Except for the iatrogenic variety, Cushing's syndrome (Fig. 14.28) is unusual in infancy and childhood. Short stature results from decreased linear growth (corticosteroid-suppressed GH secretion). Rarely, where a preponderance of androgen secretion occurs, there may be an acceleration of growth.
